We also work with a broader network of experts with whom we collaborate based on their specific expertise, such as digital strategy, web design and development, technology consulting, and instructional design.
Elliot leads and founded brightspot. He is a strategist, facilitator, and sense-maker who has directed projects for leading companies, non-profits, cultural institutions, colleges, and universities. He frequently writes and speaks about design strategy. Solving space, operational, and organizational problems gets him up in the morning. Thinking about the future of work and learning keeps him up late.
Yen analyzes and improves interactions among people, places, and systems through a user-centered lens and participatory process. As a design strategist, she couples the micro and macro to form holistic concepts for workplaces, educational and cultural institutions, and non-profits. In another life, Yen would be a food & travel journalist.
Amanda recognizes that people should be at the core of every design solution. As a senior strategist, she works directly with clients to uncover needs through innovative research methods and to develop tools to implement design strategies. An adventure and travel enthusiast, Amanda has a life goal to skydive over every continent. Two down, five to go.
Matthew is an experienced consultant and researcher. His passion for business strategy and social sciences led him to brightspot. He believes that understanding people’s behaviors and attitudes in a more nuanced way provides a powerful frame of reference for reshaping a business. He also believes that his ethnographic curiosity stems from his birthplace, Missouri, the “show me” state.
Ashley is a strategist and designer who employs a human-centered, collaborative approach to create better experiences, interactions and environments for people and organizations. Drawing on her previous experience in design research and service design, Ashley enjoys working with clients to identify opportunities and implement solutions that make an impact. In her free time, Ashley plays softball in Central Park, doodles in her sketchbook, and thinks of ways to change the world.
Eric is fascinated by paths of least resistance, systems thinking and understanding the story behind the process. As an operational strategist, he helps brightspot to integrate its learnings and teachings internally. Eric enjoys loud dinners with good friends, grilling succulent meats and helping plants to grow. He is also heroically trying to improve his Spanish.
Winnie is a leadership and organizational expert who understands that in every organization, people are the cornerstone to business success. She works on projects focused on leadership development, executive coaching, change management, training design and facilitation and organizational development. She possesses a personal passion for creative problem solving and collaborative teamwork while driving towards tangible outcomes. Downtime for Winnie is about spending time with her daughters and husband and making family dinners together.
Amanda Wirth is a design researcher and strategist with experience in workplace, higher education and cultural institutions. She brings expertise in user research and communication design. She has a Masters of Design from IIT Institute of Design, an MBA from IIT Stuart School of Business and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. While away from her work at the computer she likes to get her hands dirty gardening or wheel-throwing ceramic pots.
Frank is an experienced strategist, consultant and designer who has helped clients achieve their goals through collaboration and extensive analysis. He is also an expert in data visualization, space analysis and financial metrics. Frank is known to dream in spreadsheets.
Anshuman designs software that people love to use. He has led usability research, user experience and information architecture teams working on projects that run the gamut from consumer startups to large-scale financial services. Anshuman is a creative problem-solver, but understands that washing your car to try and make it rain doesn’t work.
Gabi is an experienced user researcher and design strategist working in a variety of sectors including government, education, and technology. She is continuously fascinated by the dynamic relationships between desire and behavior and uses each new project as a way to innovate the research process and create compelling strategies to support the client organization’s vision, culture and goals. When she’s not consulting, you can probably find her in some play you’ve never heard of. Design or theater, she is, at the core, a storyteller.
